Location:  North Land Between The Lakes off the Woodlands Nature Trace (Hwy 453).

Trailheads: Park at Land Between The Lakes North Welcome Center (located on Hwy 453) to access the full trail, D Connector, C Connector and B Connector.  Park at the parking lot on Kentucky Lake Scenic Drive (the parking lot is on your left, approximately .2 miles down Kentucky Lake Scenic Drive) to access the A Connector and B Connector.

Trail Description: The Canal Loop Trail is a series of connecting trails providing hikes or rides ranging from 1.5 miles to 14 miles. Canal Loop is one of the most popular trails in Land Between The Lakes because it offers spectacular lake views. The trail is single track, and you will experience rolling hills in some areas of the trail with trail elevation changes of 80 feet.  If you hike the complete Canal Loop Trail, you will travel 14 miles through wooded areas as well as beside both Kentucky and Barkley Lakes. Generally considered an intermediate level trail.

D Connector: 2 miles with beautiful views of Kentucky Lake
C Connector: 5.5 miles with views of both Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley
B Connector: 2.7 miles if you start at KY Lake Scenic Drive trailhead and loop back, very wooded
A Connector: 1.5 miles with views of the Canal
