Fall Festivals

Come and celebrate the fall season at a small town fall festival.  The Smithland Octoberfest is celebrated the first Saturday in October, followed by Grand Rivers Hunters Moon on the second Saturday.

Dates:  Smithland Octoberfest October 5, Grand Rivers Hunters Moon October 12.

Location:  N. Court Street in downtown Smithland, KY and Little Lake Park in Grand RIvers.

Reservations: Free Family Fun events.  You can find the schedules online here- Livingston County Chamber Facebook Page and Grand Rivers Facebook Page.  You may need to call if you want to enter a float in the parade.

Why We Love it:  These fall festivals are a fun filled day with family and friends.

 

Spooky Monkeys Uncle Tournament 2019

Fall golf tournament.  This 4-person team event features a different format on every hole.

Date:  Saturday, October 26, 12:30 PM Shotgun Start

Location:  Drake Creek Golf Club in Ledbetter, KY

Why we Love it:  Who doesn’t love a day on the course.  Plus, we love the event name.

 

Halloween Trail Ride 

Join riders and runners for the inaugural Halloween Trail Ride or Run at the Livingston County Trail System. You can ride at your own pace, and you can ride all or part of the trail. Back at the trailhead, we’ll have Halloween goodie bags after the ride. Bike helmets and lights are required to participate. Costumes and bike lights or decorations are encouraged.

Date: The Halloween Trail Ride starts at 5:30 PM on Thursday, October 31. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before ride time.

Location: The Livingston County Trail System is located just south of I-24 (Exit 31). Continue South on of KY 453 and turn right on Lodge Road. The trailhead is located next to the Tween The Rivers RV Park at 831 Vulcan Road, Grand Rivers, Kentucky 42045

Registration:  This is a free, family-friendly event. Arrive 15 minutes before ride time.

Why We Love it: It is something different and active for Halloween fun. The ride is interactive way to explore the newly transformed Livingston County Trail System. The trail was recently expanded and upgraded. Special thanks to Jim Smith Contracting, Vulcan Materials, and the Wood N Wave bike team for their work on the project and community-minded spirit.

 

Patti’s 1880’s Settlement Festival of Lights

Each year at Christmas time, Patti’s 1880’s Settlement and the town of Grand Rivers transforms into a magical light display. The Festival features over 750,000 lights in Patti’s 1880’s Settlement and Grand Rivers.

Dates: Starting on the first Friday in November through the second weekend in January.  Lights are visible every night starting at dusk.

Location: Patti’s 1880’s Settlement in Grand Rivers, KY.

Why We Love it:  We love it because aren’t we all just big kids at heart.  The lights and atmosphere are magical, and you will find all kinds of photo opp backgrounds.  And Patti’s has the BEST Santa EVER.

 

Badgett Playhouse Christmas Shows

Experience the top-notch musicians, singers and dancers performing all the traditional and non-traditional Christmas tunes you and your family are sure to enjoy! at the Badgett Playhouse feature two full hours of musical talent and rival anything you see in Branson.

Why we love it: The show has a little something for everyone. It is uplifting and entertaining. Indeed, Variety! Christmas is sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

 

Fall Couples Classic

It’s a one day couples tournament at Drake Creek Golf Club.

Date: Saturday, November 2, 10:00 am Shotgun Start

Location:  Drake Creek Golf Club in Ledbetter, KY

Reservations:  Call 270-898-4653 to sign up with credit card. Signing up online is fast and easy too. And there are no surcharges. Visit Drake Creek Website to sign up. Entry Deadline is Thursday, October 31st, or the first 52 teams.

Why we Love it:  Who doesn’t love a day on the course.  Plus, we love couple time to stay active together.

 

Land Between The Lakes Eagle Van Tours

Dress for the weather and bring binoculars if you have them as Land Between The Lakes naturalists guide you to these area eagle viewing hotspots.

Dates: December 7, and January 4,5, 11, 12 and 19

Reservations: Eagle Van Tours are a popular event and reservation numbers are limited. Reservations and full deposits are required for all trips. Call 270-924-2020 to reserve your tour.

Why we love it: Winter is peak season for bald eagle viewing, and Eagle van tours give visitors a chance to view these majestic birds in their natural habitat. Likewise, you get to enjoy time in nature.

 

March Ultra Run

The Land Between the Lakes Ultra Run returns to Grand Rivers, KY for its 17th year. This beautiful course starts along the shoreline of Kentucky Lake at Lighthouse Landing Resort and proceed 2 miles into Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area and on to the Canal Loop Trail. There are four distances to choose from; the 50 mile, 60KM, Marathon, and 23KM.

Date: Saturday, March 14

Reservations: Visit Durban Race Management for registration information. Registration prices increase after January 30, so make sure you register early!
