Tour the Columbus Ships!

Schedule chances will bring the Columbus Ships the Nina and Pinta to Green Turtle Bay Resort in June. The ships will be open for tours over the dates of June 13 – 23, 2019 at Green Turtle Bay in Grand Rivers.

The ships are open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Admission charges are $8.50 for adults, $7.50 for seniors and $6.50 for students 5 – 16. Children 4 and under are Free.

Both The Niña and Pinta tour together as a ‘sailing museum’ to educate the public on the ‘caravel’, a Portuguese ship used by Columbus and many early explorers to discover the world.

The Niña – Most Historically Accurate Columbus Replica Ship Ever Built

The Niña is a replica of the ship on which Columbus sailed across the Atlantic on his three voyages of discovery to the new world beginning in 1492. Columbus sailed the tiny ship over 25,000 miles. That ship was last heard of in 1501, but the new Niña has a different mission. As a floating museum, they visit ports all over the Western Hemisphere.

Pinta – The Second Columbus Replica Ship

The Pinta was built in Brazil to accompany the Nina on all of her travels. She is a larger version of the archetypal caravel and offers larger deck space for walk-aboard tours and has a 40 ft air-conditioned main cabin down below with seating.
More information on the ships as well as group information is available on the Columbus Ships website at thenina.com

The ships were originally scheduled to visit ports in Illinois over the June dates. The schedule change is due to continued flooding on the Mississippi and the Illinois River. The ships have now delayed their Grafton, IL dates. ALL Ports on the Upper Mississippi are subject to change or cancellation as well.
